I need a hand with something.............we are all bus people here. Its our life, its what we enjoy. I recently bought a H.P. 6210. I wanted to scan photos of my bus and my woodworking and post them here. And I want to offer encouragment to others about their buses. It seemed reasonable to me, that if someone actually could see what I do with wood............well, I may actually be able to talk with you all. Now, the helping hand I am seeking, is....."How do I get these pictures OUT of the scanner/computer and here, into Tribe, for all to see." I have spent countless hours, red-eyed and bleary, attempting, night after night, with countless variations of possible possibilities to transfer them here, to my peers. Alas, frustration is my only comrade. SO, my friends, I have plucked the courage up to finally ask one of you kind souls for illumination into my perplexing delima. And, now, I must sleep...........and pray a rescuer arrives soon...............

Mon, April 25, 2005 - 12:09 PMI know this is a total sidetrack, but since you brought up the use of MS Paint, I thought it would be appropriate. There is now a free version that updates Paint to have some of the simple attributes of the paid software image and photo manipulations. See the following link for details.
www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/
I am using the beta version and it works fine for me.

Re: Photos
Wed, April 27, 2005 - 8:44 PMI am going to give this a try. I had written Steven a reply letter as per his being willing to help, sent it, but apparently it never made it. Looks like to write to someone in Tribe, you must be logged on; and I wasn't. But, I basicly said that my copier is scanning to my computer.........I can see all the pictures in the appropriate file.......but when I go to upload it to my profile...........its a no-go. I also said, I am very nearly building a three bedroom house............alone. And at the end of a long day, I have to admit...........I am tired. So, I dont get to log on here at Tribe till I am pretty weary. So, I am weary, and I will seek to try the tips I have been given here tomorrow night, when I am more able to give it some more time. Thank you, all of you men -

Thu, April 28, 2005 - 7:36 PMDoes tribe have a photo size limit? Is it that your photos are just too big? Just a thought...doesn't hurt to ask right?

Re: Photos
Fri, April 29, 2005 - 6:38 PMI feel so warm and welcomed by all of you. I don't blush as much as I used to.........but my cheeks are glowing. I have almost got this photo-thing by the tail. I just got a little lucky with those photos. But, I know how to proceed now. More will come. And, actually, the three-bedroom home is for a friend of mine...............and there is no room in his budget for any of my particular style of woodworking. It is just a rather low-budget home..........warm and dry. Sheet-rock walls, plywood siding. Now, one day soon, I want to be working on my home; but that is not this year. But, now a question. Would any of you like to see a rather fancy door I am making in my shop? I am taking pictures, step by step of the process. And, be assured I will edit them, so as to show a process of building a door through perhaps a dozen pictures................all the way to completion. I would guess that this door would be worth anywheres around 10 grand when completed..............but it won't be for sell. Its my showpiece. Any thoughts out there? Also, Rick, I use a varity of power tools........a few of them are: 12" Makita slide compound saw; 10' Delta table saw; Shopfox W1712 combination belt-disc sander [ the big one] ; large stationary 15" planer; Delta DJ-20 8" jointer; .....................really, I use a lot of tools. The list would just go on and on. But, as I live "off the grid" I have to use generators for my power. Works for me, but the price of gas is making me squint. Reminds me..........one of them is running right now, and I have some evening work to do in my shop. Later.............................. -

Sun, September 11, 2005 - 8:17 PMI have to agree that, although the post might be stale, the photos are ROCKIN'!! Beautiful work Joseph, and I for one would love to peek at the photos of the fancy door you were gonna document. I sell used doors (and other building materials) for a living, and I am so in love with the craftsmanship that goes into the older ones.... the joinery, the lines of the reveals, the precise milling of the panels and stiles and rails to get specific grain effects.... my gosh, just look at a real Eastlake door... makes me want to find the grandchildren of the guy who made one of these and shake their hands. Thank you for being an artist, and for loving the materials that this earth provides. I so very much appreciate the way that you clearly manifest your enthusiasm for life through your work. We all need more of that beauty! -
